PD100 injectors + remap

Featured Replies

I'm currently modifying my PD100 Fabia. I've fitted a seat sport FMIC and hard pipe kit and looking to change the turbo and injectors.

Ive got a set of PD130 injectors but can I fit them and drive it or once they've been fitted is the car off the road until I can get it recovered to a tuner?

*shakes head* ...

Should of kept the SE ... ;)

Thanks for those wise words, your probably right, I should have!

I do enjoy my daily Monte Carlo, this is just a toy I'm playing with, highest bhp diesel they did in the spec I've got is 105 hence the modifying. I know I can get 220bhp without to much trouble.

I don't think you will be able to drive it after giving it bigger injectors and not telling the ECU.

It will smoke a bit but should run and drive, the injectors are very similar after all.

Just worried they may overfuel and cause internal damage or somthing.

Its a popular upgrade so thought more people that have done it would suggest how they fitted them.

Over-fuelling on a diesel causes SMOKE, it won't harm the engine itself, you're mildly hysterical, go and lie down for a bit.

Ahh how I've missed your charm over in the mk2 section.

Renault / Volvo injectors fail and cause conrods to bend ;) but I guess that's another story.

thanks for putting my mind at ease.

I doubt it will cause any damage but over fuelling can cause heads to crack from the excess heat.

Looking at doing this pretty soon too ( long time coming)

How would you guys asses the condition of the injectors? Looking at eBay or pillaging a whole pd130 from a scrapyard. Will be getting new seals, bolts etc but worked I will get it all built up and have a dud.

Any way to tell without actually fuelling it?

^^^  pressure test them on a bench.

Just to update this...

its not a good idea to fit the 130 injectors on a stock 100 map for a long time.

The stock map for the injectors on my 100bhp euro five B code engine was almost 1/3 higher than the stock value of a 130 euro four A code engine. Didn't matter much since I've remapped mine to around 180bhp writing my own map but just for others really.
