1.6tdi clutch replacement options

Featured Replies

The clutch on my 1.6 tdi has always had a pronounced judder when taking up the bite in first gear. Dealer I purchased vehicle from said it was within tolerance so that was that no help given.

its a 10 plate and fortunately even with 80 k on, it has not got any worse. It has it's good moments and can go several days being very smooth and totally judder free, however sooner or later the judder will return. Drive and clutch operation is good and smooth in all other gears and driving conditions.

I recently drove other vehicle and it made me release what I was missing in having a completely smooth clutch take up at the bite point and so have just about decided to have it replaced.

so the question is please, what options do I have. Can it be converted to conventional solid flywheel or am I stuck with another dual mass.

any ideas on how much I should be paying, haven't even made enquirers yet with any type of garage.

thanks to all
