Hi,

I have a 2011 tdi vrs Octavia. Have noticed lately when i stop st traffic lights etc the car start idling higher. It rests at anout 800 but can go up to 1300 sometimes when idling. Doesn't happen the whole time. Also on occasion again i can have igntion problems. Just takes longer to start. Could these be linked? Air intake maybe? Fuel?

Has it been scanned for any faults? That is where I would start rather than the old guessing game of what it could be. Hopefuly it will just be a sensor and a quick fix.

No i havent brought it anywhere yet. Was trying to get a feel for what was up with it first maybe

 

With modern cars it could be anything with the amount of sensors fitted to them. It could be something as simple as a split vaccuum pipe.
