Wiper Blades - correct ones?

Featured Replies

I know this has been brought up a few times before but has anyone yet found a non Skoda dealer source for Mk.3 wiper blades? The local dealer wants about £47 for a pair! Eurocarparts are quoting £24.99 (including discount) for a pair but the listing shows them for a Passat 2011>. Also the size for the smaller blade is wrong (475mm instead of 450mm). The blade mounting on the Octavia is narrower than on VW's so I think the Octavia fitment is specific to the Mk.3.

I'd be very grateful for comments.

The Europarts ones are Bosch and fit perfectly, I have a front screen set and no problems on my hatch.

Further to my 1st post, I was right, I just checked the box in my garage. You need to buy Bosch Aerotwin A860S 600mm / 475mm blades. No issues whatsoever. They come with several adapters and I fitted them in about 5 minutes.

Thanks very much for that - will get a pair of Bosch Aerotwin tomorrow.

+1 for the Bosch blades. Got mine from Halfords, about £28 for the pair if I remember right, very happy with them.

note of interest on eurocar parts - it is often cheaper to buy them desperately rather than the set - by as much as gbp5 sometimes

Desperately .... :D  blinking sleep checkers.....

Hi, I have Bosch A860 S set but the the 475mm is about 10 mm longer than the current blade and I cannot fit them to the arms. The Bosch figment is more complex than the current one.

Mt Bosch set did not come with adaptors. Anyone else experienced this?

Octavia 3 Estate Early 2015

My Bosch A860 set from Amazon came with no adapters (if I remember correctly) but with a exact plug & play match for what I had on my car (Feb 2014).

Click & pull to remove the existing blades & push & click to fit the new ones.

Are others happy with Aerotwins? Mine start squeaking with slightly lower temperatures and work as if they are a lot older than they actually are.

Will be replacing these with Skoda originals.

Skoda ones are just rebranded Bosch aerotwin anyway aren't they?

If so, then you all have a cheap solution. Aerotwin has a replacement rubber on Amazon, OEM, and on AliExpress Chinese cheap copy, which also works really great.

I think I bought 10 double rubbers 600mm (you shorten it yourself) for 5-6€. Still have it from my old car, just in case.

It is very easy to replace.

Im completely happy with mine. No problems, squeeks or streaks when wiping.

Especially the rear wiper, which use to sound like it was scraping on sandpaper before replacement, now it is silent.

From another thread some people commented that the Aerotwins needed replacing more often than the Skoda originals but I dont feel this with mine so far.

I've had them fitted around 1 year. (Factory fitted ones lasted me around 3 years before I replaced them)
