Hi, just joined this forum to learn and read a lot. I am from Holland and since january I drive a new Octavia III 1.0 TSi Estate. Colour Black Magic with the so called "Plus package" en some recent VAG-COM (VCDS) tweaks.

Welcome along!  The 1.0 tsi is a great engine - how do you find it?

So far I really like it. More than enough power and flexability for everyday use. But the fuel consumption is a bit disappointing. The real test will be in July when I go to Italy fully loaded

The fuel economy does suffer on long runs with the 1.0 and I think the engine and economy is much more suited to city driving and shorter runs.  My wife is getting close to 45mpg on her 1.0 Octavia hatch (on mixed driving) which isn't bad IMO.  Put your foot down on a motorway though and you won't see the kind of return you get on a diesel or larger engine.
