Rear door deadlocked

Featured Replies

I have the rear door open, door card off, can I unlock the deadlock without having to remove the lock.

Yes, but if you have the door open already it's way easier to just remove it then cut it open on the bench to get rid of the deadlocking, then you can temporarily refit it so you can carry on using the car while you wait for a new one.

Hi, sorry to trouble you again.

i am trying to undo the outer door handle, I have removed the single rubber grommet but cannot fathom out what type of screw needs undoing, is it a torque, Allen key or plosidrive and what size is it.

i have tried shining a torch through the hole but cannot see what it is.

any help greatly appreciated.

I think it's a Torx screw from memory, maybe T15? You only have to loosen it enough to allow the insert to be popped out, then you can release the cable attaching the door handle to the lock and therefore remove the lock assembly complete. You don't need to remove the door handle itself.

Update - I purchased a replacement door lock from eBay for £23 : All now working OK.

Thanks for your help.
