The Columbus doesn't have Bluetooth built in. You need a separate Bluetooth module fitting to the car if you don't have one already.

Not sure what use that would be. It appears to be a bluetooth unit for streaming music somehow, but how effective it would be I don't know. Certainly you'll have to use the phone for all control of the music, which will gain you some points and a fine when the Police catch you.

If you want Bluetooth streaming and handsfree phone functionality then something like this would be good. It's the factory fit kit for that purpose.

If you just want to use your phone for music then this would be a good solution. Again, factory fit and goes into the armrest (if you have one fitted). If you don't have an armrest then the same kit can fit inside the glovebox, either remove the actual MDI unit from the armrest kit and mount that, or buy a bare MDI kit like this.

Those are just 2 or 3 examples of what you can use. You'll probably find them cheaper if you look.

Many thanks.

the second one looks the better option for me.

Make sure you get one which has the correct cables included. There's the wiring loom adapter with quadlock connectors on either end (rather than the bare wiring one which needs cutting and soldering), then there's the short adapter cables at the other end which clip into the MDI and connect your device. There's a USB, an iphone early, and an iphone lightning, so you'll need the correct one for your phone. Not sure if there's a USB C type yet.

That's ancient... Looking at rosstech it only support DDP where as a FL MK2 Octavia will be BAP. I also don't think it supports A2DP.

A 7P6035730J or newer is a better choice for non-maxidot cars.

A 3C8035730D or newer is good for maxidot cars.

I think the only caveat is that only Bolero headunits (Delphi versions?) suffer from phonebook corruption with the 7P6 units, I'm not sure which version is recommended in this case.

Have you got a link of what i would need for my fabia with rns 510

thanks

I'm no expert on the Fabia but I think the same modules work for a MK2 '64 plate fabia as a MK2 FL Octavia.

It's just down to if you have a maxidot instrument cluster or not.

I do have a maxidot cluster, so the bottom of the 2 you listed.

I believe so, but as I say I don't know much about the Fabia. Do you have a VCDS autoscan?

No im afraid not.

I can confirm that the 7P6035730J module works in a MK2 FL Octavia with Maxidot, however as @langers2k rightly points out the phone book is corrupt on the bolero.

everything else works perfectly, I use mine with the speed dial in the bolero for 5 numbers plus voicemail and I use the maxidot phonebook if I am calling anyone else outside of my speed dial options ( which I rarely do ) which I think is actually better than the bolero as it is directly in front you.
