Can any one advise me on which type of dump valve I can fit to my octavia vrs

I am going to fit a ABD Cold Induction Kit very soon and would like to fit a very audible dump valve

Do I need to fit a recirc type to stop any engine management faults - and if I do fit a recirc type can you hear it?

You can hear the standard DV when you fit a CAI, and it's reasonably loud. Deffo wouldn't try fitting an atmospheric DV- more hassle than it's worth.

Try doing a search. Bailey and Forge DV's seem most popular and are more reliable than the standard DV. Not sure if they are any louder though, as I'm still running the standard DV with my CAI.

Definately get the most reliable results with a recirc DV. Either uprated piston DV or you can now buy diaphragm uprated DVs which are supposedly slightly quicker acting. I've had both and both work very well with either standard or uprated boost (remapped).

Easy to fit and more or less trouble free.

I have a bailey DV30 and a CAI and the sound is awsome:thumbup: if a little bit "Barry" for some. You can even get the dump valve to sound when parking with very little revs!! God i'm such a kid!

I have just fitted a Bailey DV30 to my vRS to replace a shafted Bosch original equipment DV.

The new valve is certainly louder than the original Bosch jobbie but it is probably still not that audible from outside as I have fitted a Green cotton panel filter but retained the standard airbox.

The difference in performance is probably only barely noticable (I say probably since my standard one was totally fubar and would hardly hold boost at all - the new one is great, all the hesitations / surging I have been experiencing at low rpm have gone )
