Hi guys. I have found some wheels that I like the look of. Not to sure if the width and offset would work.

 

Ive got a VRS estate with 18s as standard.

 

Wheels that I am looking at 

 

Front. 18" x 8.5 et42

Rear. 18" x 9.5 et40

 

Tried having a look online but still not sure with it all. 

 

Any help would be awesome.

Offsets on the standard wheels are 51. So those you have listed will sit further out which is fine but the width might be a problem. Standard wheels are 7.5 I think. Lot of guys run spacers. I have 12mm spacers all round so effectively the wheels are a 39 offset and they are spot on. You can run a 20mm spacer and still no rubbing. But that's on a 7.5 wide rim. Those certainly wouldn't rub on the suspension but might on the arches if it's lowered.

I run 19x9 et41 225/35 19 in the rear on mine and it's a close fit. I had to add -2 deg of camber in order to avoid rubbing with full booth and people in the back.

So would a 7.5 wide rim with a offset of 40 work in a VRS? 

Yes mate all day long no bother even if lowered. Mines lowered 30mm from standard vrs height with 12mm spacers on the original 19's which have a 51 offset. Still no signs off rubbing even when fully loaded. Works really well.. 40 should have been the offset from the factory I reckon

That setup would work - no problem

you can play around with wheel sizes here: http://www.willtheyfit.com

 

Insert a size you know works as your "existing setup", and use that as a guide (for example 225/35 19 on 8.5X19)

 Skoda's wheel setups are very conservative and hiding in the arches
