Fabia auto 52 reg

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have an issue with this auto.

I bought it about 12 weeks ago where 2 weeks later I needed to load the engine with 3L of oil.... Then just yesterday I needed to give it another 3L

I've NEVER had to do this b4 and it's confused me.

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd appreciate the help.

I have no leaking from engine at all.

Although the gearbox does have slight seeping  (changes gear no problem at all)

If its the 1.4 16v its probably piston rings gone if its burning that much

Probably just worth keep filling it up rather than fixing

Yeah it's the 1.4

 It's only done 47k

 For sure not worth it?

What price would you say to fix it?

im not sure exactly as i dont know alot about the 1.4. I think the problem occurs if they get driven too gently around town it causes the cylinders to glaze over or something like that

Some other members on here will know more about it and probably be of more help

Brilliant. Thanks for replying.

I will await more

47,000 miles on a 15 year old car is nice, well maybe.

So was there something showing it as having a service before you got it and a new Oil Filter & Oil?

What does it show as being the oil used, and what oil are you filling it up with?

Best see what the story is with loosing Transmission Fluid from the Autobox, and maybe have that sorted out.

A visit to a mechanic might be in order.
