Dash-cam fitting

Featured Replies

I recently purchased my first ever Škoda which was the 2016 Rapid Spaceback.
I hard wired the dashcam yesterday because the 12v socket isn’t in the best position for regular use, the 12c socket also remains live when ignition is off.
The instructions said to piggyback the dashcam to a fuse that will not be powered when the engine is off. I used the rear window heater? But this remains powered, as does every other fuse port I have tried including the redundant ones.

does everything in this car remain powered or does it time out after so long?

Not sure if the same, most other stuff is, on my Toledo I piggy backed on to the door mirror fuse circuit. Just works when the ignition is on which is what I wanted.
