Wheel cleaning brush recommendations

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could do with a decent wheel brush, can anyone recommend one?

Cheers

I bought some Wheel Woolies about three or so years ago and they are still going strong.

You can buy genuine Wheel Woolies for about £40, but you can get similar ones from Auto Finesse, etc... for £30.

The initial outlay is quite high for what they are but they do last an incredibly long time with very little to no maintenance.

You can buy a set of three (to the left of the detailing brush, recommended also for wheel faces and around the rim as well as cleaning the wheel nuts) for the £30-40 price. A small brush for narrow areas and crevices, a medium size brush for between spokes and behind and a large one for wheel arches.

In no order (and depends on wheels)

Envy Valeting Brush set (Tim is a very nice man) http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products-info.asp?id=151 Also good for vents etc

Swissvax Wheel Brush (I like it, its over 10 years old got it before the Envy set) https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiFmIiomJLUAhUpKMAKHayKBx8QFghEMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.swissvax.co.uk%2Fmerchant.mvc%3FScreen%3DPROD%26Product_Code%3DSE1054090&usg=AFQjCNEnk5brlCyuvJwoBg-_92F6lKuIoQ

AutoGlym Brush (More for wheel trims and working the wheel cleaner into the back of spokes where it needs a bit more of a stiffer brush, not to be confused with the AutoSmart brush, they are different)  https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi5obbPmJLUAhWLIcAKHUtQArIQFghhMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoglym.com%2Fhi-tech-wheel-brush&usg=AFQjCNEwh_8f610xJuqzQx7vB1EVrnXG2A

Various Viken brushes. http://www.vikan.com/uk/transport/products/detail/?id=1487&gid=8111#desc http://www.vikan.com/uk/transport/products/detail/?id=1489&gid=8111#desc

Wheel woolies (just the first link i found) http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb-wheel-woolies-cat4.html#

I also use a mitt, hog hair brush, MFs and others depending on wheel.

Just look for prices.

Perfectly timed thread this, as I was just about to post up asking the same question :)

My EZ is starting to fall apart, so was wondering what the current recommendations were

Loving these for alloy wheels on my cars....  great recommendation!!!!

Available cheaper from China if you dont mind waiting... and i dispose after a few months or so when they dont wash clean.

"Just use a lambswool or noodle wash mitt to clean the front of the alloy wheels..."

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Synthetic-Thick-Short-pile-Wash-Mitt-Glove-2pack-detailing-alloys-sills-car-/252965701626?hash=item3ae5ee47fa:g:Xs4AAOSwa-dWm6uc

Daytona speedmaster, pastry brush and dooka wheel mitt covers 99% of car's/wheels.

AG bullet brush as a backup if you happen to be cleaning wheels which have never been cleaned or have done 20k without a wash...

cheers
