BCM body control module

Featured Replies

Hi skodanian's. Any one experienced any problems with BCM body control module,  resulting in indicators failure  ( bulbs are fine) or any other lighting issues.

Skoda superb 2.0 Tdi DSG 2010  .  Gradual problem with indiactors where first one stopped working and now two (1 in front and 1 in back ) also one headlight not working  ( bulb is fine)  . On information display it indicates to check all bulbs in detail one by one . Very strange behaviour

Any information or suggestions will be hugely appreciated.

You've not fitted Xenon (HIDs) to a non xenon equipped car have you? This can cause issues like you're experiencing

Everything on car absolutely original  nothing modified or upgraded  . Took the car to electrician today for a BCM swap and still same problem . Further investigation led to the fuse box under the bonnet where all the fuses are fine BUT ..........the underside of the fuse panel had corrosion shorting couple of tracks ( yes very strange )  cleaned up the tracks and problem solved.   Unbelievable.

Hope it will help someone else out there

Hopefully that's all there is too it! Sometimes the simple fixes are the most satisfying!

Would this apply to the same problems on a mk11 Superb

If you have a V6 2.5 diesel Superb then think you must mean a MK I Superb and not a MK II?

Try the MK I forum here:  Skoda Superb MK I

Just encountered this problem today, 11 different bulbs to be checked, but they all fine.

Is there much work in removing the fuse panel under the bonnet?

2009 green line Superb.

Regards

My problem ended up being the battery, replaced battery everything worked again

Indeed, a failing battery on the Superb often results in some very unusual and often misleading faults. Glad you got it sorted and thanks for sharing the prognosis.

Had the same problem... all lights down the right hand side of the car were gone.. intermittently at first...

The intermittent part is key..

When it first happened i checked the fuses for continuity and discounted a dodgy fuse..

Was googling all about BCM/CECM pinouts and layouts to see if i could diagnose/repair when it all lights on RHS died suddenly..

It was the fuse (F16, 30A, engine bay fuse board).. melted plastic and metal!

What a *fix!

*Need to keep an eye on it.. what would cause a 30A fuse to go, a dodgy bulb/connection down the RHS?

Bad earth? Worn cable shorting out on something? You can buy wiring diagrams from https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do which might be useful for guided fault finding.

Number plate lights intermittently reporting a fault now after a few days.

Possibly the receiving end of the fuse holder is tarnished/scorched from the meted fuse, making a high resistance contact with the new fuse, or one of the two bulbs are on the way out or a bad connection along the way.

Nice job for a wet evening!
