Extended warranties

Featured Replies

Hi all just received an offer from Skoda as my cars warranty is about to run out, 1 years all components no part payments on repairs and restricted to 10000 miles cost £227, my cars only done 25500 miles in 3 years do think is worth the cost any thoughts would be appreciated.

Kinda wouldn't buy that extended warranty with your mileage but, I would question your choice of TDI with that mileage.

Everybody is different I guess

It's worth it if something goes and it doesn't leave you out of pocket in repairs, and not worth it if it runs like clockwork for the next 12 months and you gain nothing from having it....

Only you can decide whether the £227 for piece of mind is worth it, or whether you'd prefer to take that risk.

For what it's worth that seems quite a reasonable price for a further 12 months of cover. Probably reflected in that the risk at 25k/3yr old is quite low. You may also be able to claim some goodwill if something goes wrong  just out of warranty and fully dealer serviced on schedule, but again you can't bank on it and it may still leave you out of pocket Vs having a fully covered warranty.

Hi thanks for your remarks don't think I'll take up the offer, the reasons I bought the diesel it was a cancelled order got a cracking deal, and my last tank of fuel gave me 620 miles when the fuel light came on!
