Start/stop

Featured Replies

Just ordered a 1.0 tsi (110 bhp) with dsg. Forgot to ask if it has a start/stop system and if so can it be de-activated. Thanks

Geoff

Button on dash near lights deactivates stop/start.

Can be permanently disabled via coding if required

Am I one of the few people who doesn't mind the start stop feature?

Admittedly I do have a 6 speed manual which means I can choose a bit more freely when I want the start/stop to work by depressing the clutch as soon a I notice traffic starting to move.

I don't mind it either (manual box)

Very rare I am stationery long enough to ever put it in neutral.

I don't *mind* it (DSG box) - but I don't especially like it either.

I certainly wouldn't choose it if it were optional.

Button on dash de-activates stop/start for the entire journey until ignition is switched off.

Stop/start can be re-activated during the journey by pressing the same button.

I think that it is a brilliant idea to possibly reduce pollution in inner cities, but I must confess that in winter I switch it off, and this summer I seem to have forgotten to stop switching it off!!

Edit:- on the question "will it have Stop/Start fitted" - the answer must be YES!
