Hi I was wondering if anyone could advise on what ET to look for on wheels for my 2010 Octavia. I have the standard 15" rims on at the minute and was thinking 17" rims would be nice. The problem is, I had 18" RS4 (or RS6) 5 spoke wheels on and they looked great but I think they were ET35 and the wind noise when driving was horrendous. Skoda are usually ET50 arent they? Im just lookign a straigh simple swap no fannying around with adjustments. I appreciate anyone taking the time to read this thankyou.

I would say anything between 40 and 50 should work without any problems. I have 42 for winter and the original 50's for summer and I still have 10mm spacers on the back with both sets.

Wouldn't this just be the noise from the tyres having more tread and not from sticking out too far? 

I'm running an et of 45 and a width of 8j on a 17" rim.  They are spot on for the front but could do with a 10mm spacer at the rear to make them just right.

Thanks for the replies folks. I sourced a set of ET47 18" S-Line wheels with good tyres for decent money and am very happy with them. 

The rather large 245/40 tyres really fill the arches! But no rubbing so all good
