1.8T 4x4 Octavia Estate project

Hi,

Just a very brief introduction to my 2001 Octavia 4x4 project.  I bought it from Briskoda member 'SimonJ' back in February this year.  He hadn't used it for nearly 5 years and I bought it unseen as a non-runner.  Had it delivered to my workshop, when it arrived it looked like this:

To cut a long story short, I had it running within the hour and after plenty of work it went through its MoT last week.  I've done plenty of work to it and will detail that in subsequent posts.  Just wanted to get something down on here.  It now looks like this:

Thanks

Tom

Just a bit more of an update on this ongoing project.  I've taken the original ARX engine out and replaced it with a complete BAM engine and gearbox from a 2003 Audi TT.    Also fitted the wishbones, hub carriers and steering arms etc, plus the twin intercoolers and a few other things.

Chucked a set of LCR Brembo's on the front to help it stop a bit better in anticipation of some track use

Did some track work in it.  S3 17's to clear the Brembo's with a set of PS4's on.

A couple of weeks ago I built a wiring loom and got the heated leather Recaro's working.

It's currently doing a sterling job of daily driver duties.  Next on the list is a new exhaust and then a remap.  250-260bhp will be nice for a daily :-)

Thanks,

Tom

Just had a custom 2.5” exhaust made and fitted (hidden tailpipe for subtlety) and at the same time I fitted a DV65 high flow fuel pump, Badger5 TIP and Forge 008 DV.

Followed this with a remap by Niki at R-Tech and it’s now an absolute joy to drive with 260bhp on tap.

Did a trackday a Donington Park last week too, it didn’t miss a beat.

Not interested in any kind of deal I’m afraid. Everything is for sale at the right price but what it’s worth to me is almost certainly going to be different to what it’s worth to you. It’s a rare thing now, so to see it driving away with everything I’ve done I’m going to be asking the top side of £4k for it.

Another productive summer with this car - a decent sized FMIC intercooler fit, along with a TT quick rack and DV65 fuel pump, not to mention another Nurburgring trip, where it performed impeccably.  Now comfortably running 265bhp and pretty much finished.  So now I've spent all that money and time on it, it's time to sell.  Advert to follow shortly on here.
