Theres one of these inside the aircleaner box in my Fab. (looks a bit like the trumpet pipes you get on some carbs)

I reckon it impedes airflow so I have removed it along with the restrictive air intake pipe (B&Q mods to follow!)

The question is what is the trumpet there for - noise reduction/smooth air flow???

btw induction noise has increased and the engine seems more responsive.

It's actually there to steer+smooth the airflow out of the airbox into the intake as far as I know.

definitely more responsive though (and noisier which is good fun but i might grow tired of it) certainly sounds very meaty.

May experiment with some flexi vent hose at the weekend.
