The Million Pound Question

Featured Replies

So about a month ago I treated myself to a gorgeous yellow Octavia VRS TDI which I absolutely adore, now I'm looking to remap and do the EGR delete, and so the million pound question (which I'm sure has been asked numerous times for this type of engine) How do you do the delete, and is it relatively easy to do?

My only issue is that I have the pipe, but no blanking plate so I'm wondering being a common rail it's got the cooler attached to it, there's no need for a blanking plate but I could be wrong?

...as far as I know, the only chance is via VCDS to reduce the EGR function to a minimum. A total delete is not possible, neither mechanically with plate nor via software.

To remove the EGR, you need the hardware to remove the physical components from the engine, as well as requiring a remap so that the engine can function without it. Why do you want to remove the EGR?

The EGR on these engines (and most CR diesels from this era) are nutorious for clogging up and breaking down

Why delete it on a CR? Do you have a fault?

Cr engined diesels are far better than the old pd versions for stuff like dpfs and egr.

Ive never had a single issue with either and same for many other cr engined cars
