Rear Console Bushes

Featured Replies

We've had the Fabia for almost 2 months and this is the next job on the list, but how bad are they in your opinion? Immediate job to do or something that can wait?

I've been looking through the service history and they were noted on the last service 2,000 miles ago, but not picked up on the MoT.

When you say rear, is that front (of car), rear bush???

If it drives ok then it cannot be that urgent imo, although it should fail the mot. Surprised it passed the last one to be honest. It looks well past it.

I had one fail the mot within two years of it being replaced, and with only usual mileage. very surprised but i do trust the garage i use

They were both replaced either side, but just the one side failed..........Go figure!

Thanks @Tilt. They are the fronts.

They're terrible, smash them out and replace them while the weathers good, I favour PSB bushes because they're nice and hard but nice and easy to fit.

No need to smash them out- if like mine- they just fall out. I replaced mine with Powerflex- guaranteed for life.

Not cheap in relation to standard bushes, but with labour costs ( your time) in mind - they pay for themselves.

For those more into more advanced handling, they also do a more advanced type.

They also sell a load of crap which no-one needs like their ARB bushes, and they're really expensive, more than twice what PSB bushes cost.

Guess what PSB are made from, that's right, the same PU material as Powerflex.

Back in the bad old days they were the only alternative to OEM rubber rubbish, not any more.

Advanced indeed, a polybush is a polybush, it either works or it doesn't.

Oh-I agree- Powerflex pricing policy is not best explained ( cost is  quoted as per side, BUT kit comes as two sides-confusing or what?). Advanced ,they explain as for better handling etc. I did mine years ago ,when it was OEM ( with fitment problems) or Powerflex with a lot less problems.

Personally, I'd not fit the crap PLASTIC OEM to any car of mine.
