thanks everyone for clarifying the diesel vs petrol question. now I'm after what engine is going to serve me better on my short commute and longer journeys.

 

been looking at the 1.4 150 act all the way down to the 1.2 105 tsi I think it is.

 

whats going to get the best mileage on short journeys and long.

The Mk3 Octavia gets the 1.4TSI 150ps ACT not the Fabia,

maybe worth asking in that section, there is a fuel consumption thread running.

 

The 1.4TSI 150ps ACT should give the best MPG if in a Fabia for local and longer journeys if fitted to a Fabia like they were in other VW Group cars.

The new engine going in some like the Karoq is the 1.5 TSI 150 ps ACT.

 

The Skoda Rapid has to stick with the 1.4TSI.
