which tsi gives the best economy?

Featured Replies

been looking at the 1.4 150 act all the way down to the 1.2 105 tsi I think it is.

whats going to get the best mileage on short journeys and long.

The 1.4 act is probably engine offering the best returns but is probably in a limited range of Skoda, I think just the Superb but a wider range in the VW group as a whole. It is a more recent engine so it might be out of your price range if you are buying second hand.

The more conventional 1.2/1.4tsi engines cover a fairly big power range up to 150hp/250Nm but the economy returns don't vary that much in real life, they are all good if driven sensibly.

The newer 3 cylinder 1.0tsi is giving very good returns on the limited number of those reporting on this forum but again the vehicles might be out of your price range and not many on the 2nd hand market.

We have a 2016 1.4 Octavia and a 2016 1.2 Fabia, they are about the same (45 mpg).

1.0 Estate 54.9 after almost 3500 miles.

Mostly short commuting runs with a long run thrown in every month.

I'm NOT expecting my on order vRS245 to be too good on fuel but, niether has my 1.4 140(psi) been

What am I saying?

Its gonna depend on the driver

The 2.0 tsi is actually quite reasonable considering the performance.
