Does my vRS have ESP?

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2005 Fabia vRS and it has a number of options including factory xenons, sunroof, cruise control & heated seats

Looking at some of the topics on here it seems the options list in the boot floor has been discussed with all the codes listed.

From looking at my sticker it shows I have code 1AP which is supposedly for ESP. Looking at another thread on here it seems that cars with ESP had 'ESP' buttons instead of 'ASR' on the dashboard.

Mine has ASR which would suggest it doesn't have the ESP option.

Is there any way of confirming whether it does or doesn't have this feature. Are there any things to look for under the bonnet that would confirm either way.

ESP is 1AT

1AT Electronic stabilization program (ESP)

1AP Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with electromechanical brake booster

whats the difference between those two then?

Ok, so I have that system and therefore it cannot be switched off hence the ASR button for switching off traction control only.

Im guessing the versions with ESP can be switched off hence the ESP button.

Cheers TMB

Yes I think that's correct. I think ESP and ESC are basically the same thing but ESP could be turned off if desired.
