Heated seats repair/ re-fit

Featured Replies

The vRS i have just bought has factory heated seats however I have noticed that the connections under the seats do not connect to the seats. On closer inspection it seems the seats fitted are not heated ones as there is no connections under the seat. The date code on the seats is 2006 and the car is a 2005 so im guessing they have been replaced at some point with non heated ones.

My question is can heating elements be fitted to the standard seats? I know there are guides on here on how to do the full system but most of the pictures don't seem to load anymore.

If it can be done, is there a part number for the heating elements and do they fit into to the foam or just under the seat base?

Yeah they can be done, I've done it on more than 1 MK1, however the heating elements brand new are very expensive.

You will also need the module that goes under the seats.

i would suggest buying a second hand set of heated seats and fitting then or removing everything you need and swapping it over.
