Service Indicator

Featured Replies

My Fabia estate diesel is warning the service is due in 1600 miles on the variable service schedule.  I probably have a window in about that mileage when I will get the service done.  If I end up doing a little more mileage than 1600 does it invalidate warranties etc?  Are there any other issues if this happens or do I just get more warnings as the mileage gets closer to zero?

(I will try to get it serviced earlier if I can)

Thanks

Is the car on Fixed servicing so 9,400 miles / 372 days because you chose that?

It could have been on flexible servicing and 2 years / 18,500 miles or so which means that if not serviced as shown for 9,400 miles / 1 year and 1 week it will not invalidate a manufacturers warranty if Long Life oil is in.

Dealership employees might say different, but the Warranty T&C's say 'Manufacturers Schedule / Guidelines', so that does not mean a Dealership setting a Service Indicator to Fixed Servicing means a car needs Fixed Service Intervals.

Problem is when there are issues you get into discussions were those without common sense start to argue what suits Dealerships.

I bought it at one years old just ready for its first fixed service which was done as part of the sale, I also requested the change to variable servicing at the same time as my mileage justifies it.

That was about 10 months ago and the second service is due now.

So did it get changed to Variable 10 months ago and have you covered 18,000 miles or so since so need to have it serviced by the miles covered,

or did the change to variable not get done?
