Sunroof needs some lubrication

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can anyone advise on the best way to lubricate the action of the sunroof? Mine is sticking as it closes, so it automatically begins opening again. Have had to crank it shut manually for now.

Thanks

There are two plastic guides on each side of the sunroof that buckle and jam the roof. The only way to remove them is to strip out the sunroof remove them and refit. I did it with mine and its fine now.

Hi, interesting reply. Do you know why they buckle? It sounds like the buckling is induced and then removal/refit remedies the situation?

Not sure whether the heat and constant use and lack of lubrication is a big cause.

Did you need replacement parts or did you refit the existing plastic guides?

Removed them and chucked them in the bin. Been fine without them for 5 years so far.
