Adblue pump noise

Featured Replies

Noticed today that there is a whining coming from under the rear offside.

It starts as soon as I first drive off and is there all the time. As soon as start stop activates, the whining also stops a few seconds later.

When the engine restarts to drive off, the whine doesn't start again until I start moving.

It isn't speed or engine revs related as it is an almost constant whine. It does seem to get slightly louder when braking though.

I am thinking it's the Adblue pump ?

Any other suggestions?

I notice the fuel pump on mine, particularly when the fuel level is getting low. As some one suggested it's probably because the tank is almost empty and so amplifying the sound. The other day though I noticed it even with plenty of fuel in.

I guess the Adblue pump does run all the time? As it's under warranty I'd just take it to your dealer.

Ah, that might be it. The fuel light was on and IIRC it started shortly after.

I never normally let it get that low.

I think we were pushing the limit! When I filled up I got 58 litres in.

Also got the best MPG I've ever had. 567 miles on 58 litres - roughly 44mpg :)
