Hi Everyone, 

Thanks for having me.. I took the plunge and bought my first Skoda; An Octavia 1.4 TSI SE L face lift in quartz grey. So far so good.

Now I really don't want to be negative ...but why do I need to call in a techie to make the cornering lights and second rear fog work on a brand new car?

Surely this should have been set up by the garage if the equipment is there? I don't get it.

 

OK rant over, my next question is, would somebody in the Worthing area kindly be able to help me out of my predicament please? I would be most grateful.

 

p.s, I look forward to joining in the banter once I get my feet under the table.

if in the UK there was no need for the 2nd rear fog light to be enabled, do you even have one?

Do cornering fog lights come as standard spec on the model you have?  Maybe if not then why not enabled, but as long as you have them to enable that is good.

 

Why not ask the Dealership to do both jobs if you paid for those features?

Thank you for the welcome. I am not sure of all my facts here. I have read through the posts on the subject and it appears that it is possible to enable with VCDS. If this is true I feel like I have been mugged! The second fog light looks like it is in place to me and I believe the cornering facility should be available. I did ask the dealer to enable the cornering facility but alas it is not working.

Your are right to expect what you bought and paid for to operate but it is not the Skoda / VW G way.

They like to charge to enable things built already into vehicles, some charges are ridiculous for the simplest of things to be enabled.

 

As to things you could of had and can still ask for, like Auto Lock, one touch opening etc, then just do ask as the Dealership should ask customers if they want these functioning or not, few do though.

All the options in my signature which are written in black have been activated via a VCDS.
