Sticker Residue

As above have a vehicle to do that had advertising stickers on. Out line is showing when they have been removed. would compounding level the paint work? Car is a L200 in silver. Is paint hard or soft?

Initially I thought 'soft' and then checked and it apparently is

IIRC the Lexus has soft paint but an even softer clear coat so you could quite easily burn through the clear coat if you use too much speed/force or an aggressive pad/compound. 

 

EDIT: Sorry, I got confused between your profile info and seen L200 and in my head thought 'LS'.  L200 pickup?  look at the above link, apparently soft paint.

Try IPA (no, not India Pale Ale ) Isopropyl Alcohol, very gentle on paint, but takes most adhesives off very easily.  Most specticle or CD cleaning sprays are mostly IPA.

Spray it, wait a few moments, rub it with microfibre cloth, failing that, kitchen towel.   Works for me.

I find panel wipe works wonders in sticker residue blue roll and rub gently soon era it off .

If it's just residue then a tar n glue remover should shift it. However, the chances are you may have to take more action depending on how long the stickers were on the vehicle...I did a VW Transporter recently, turned out to be an ex chips away van. Compounding reduced their appearance but failed to remove the outlines altogether. It maybe you have to flat the paint for complete removal.
