Octavia 1.9tdi and Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Given a new 1.9tdi as courtesy car (

Might be a 110 TDI, which are non PD injection, and are a bit more noisier.

The 1.2 fabia's I've driven are a LOT quieter than my 1.8T Octavia Estate.

Estates are in general, noisier than small hatchbacks though.

New Octy is PD.

My mums got the 1.9, I think it's fine, not as mooth as the 2.0l but it's an older design.

Yep, you can barely hear the engine in the 1.2, think you've stalled it at traffic lights, where in actual fact its just ticking over lol

I am used to a diesel clatter.

I have the 1.9 Tdi 105 bhp engine in my Octy II and it is a little noisy when pushing on but I would say no noisier than the Furby vRS. The sound is quite different considering that they are a very similar engine!

I think it it is a PD engine as I read that on the spec when I ordered it.

As for the seats, I fully agree that they a tad on the firm side and on long distance trips that I mostly do, They are a little uncomfortable!

Apart from that though, it's a great car with plenty of space and refinement.
