Hi, I have searched this forum and the internet at some length together with a good look at my car before posting for help.

 

I am trying to find the precise location of the fill plug for my O2K gearbox on my 2002 1.6 Octavia (BFQ). I've found the drain plug, but not the fill. Does anybody have a photo or diagram of where it is? The photo in the Haynes manual is of no help either.

 

This forum has a great 'how to change gearbox oil' for the O2Y box and pictures showing the fill plug on the front of the box, but none for the O2K box.

 

Thanks in advance for your help. My car has now done 140K and the change is getting nothcy, hence the need for its first gear oil change!

Well, sometimes a little perseverance pays off! If anybody needs to locate the filler plug, see the attached photo. To access, you will need to remove the NS lower arch liner/access panel.

 

Now, Ive yet to get the plug undone despite lots of effort, so the story goes on. One day soon my car will have new gearbox oil.
