RS MK3 2014 Engine failure

Featured Replies

Hello!
My vRS 2014 (MK3) had an engine failure, apparently the piston got cracked into 2. Anyway, I got my engine replaced completely (no turbo included).
Now, I wish to know, was there any revision upgrade or something to the pistons or the engine since 2014? did skoda "acknowledged" such engine failures and officially fixed the issue? I am asking because I don't know as of now if the engine won't fail again.

By the way, almost all of the vRS in Israel had the same problems.
Also, the Golf GTI has the exact same engine, how come they don't fault?

Some weird black magic is happening here.. thanks :D!

Which Factory in which country are the Octavia vRS sold in Israel built, and which plant are the engines built in & are the VW Golf Engines from the same plant.

What is the PS of these engines 220? and what octane fuel do you use in Israel.

The questions you want answered would be easier done by asking Skoda in CZ, and as a paying customer who has had to have a replacement engine ask for

the details of that Was it 'New' or Refurbished from a VW or Skoda Plant and is it like for like or are there upgraded parts and what Engine Management / Software Changes' are there to the cars ECU.

Ask in writing you might have the right under law to know in Israel.

Your vehicle VW Group Fundamental Design, Manufacturing or Materials faults causing failures.

was it tuned?

Sorry for the late response, busy times. Shouldn't be able to tell all the info from the engine number?
