1.8 T 4x4 ESP Fault

Featured Replies

Hi folks ,

Yesterday and today my car braked suddenly and pulled to the left whilst I was driving normally . Got quite a fright as I wasn't braking at the time !

My ESP light is on . It will go out if I have switched the car off for a while but the fault reappears and could cause an accident !

It was in the garage for a new clutch and flywheel so I hope the arses haven't done something to her .

Any info / advice would be much appreciated .

Cheers , Gary.

Drive shafts would have come out during the clutch so a wheel speed sensor may have been damaged. I would suspect the car is detecting wheelspin and applying the brake to the nearside front wheel.. A code read should show whats causing the issue and live data/scope will probably show a duff signal on one of the wheel speed sensors.
