Probably a repeat so may have been mentioned before, Octavia vRS on Traffic Cops on UKTV People last night (Wednesday)

The burglars had stolen the keys and made off after breaking into a house, a copper in an unmarked V70 was chasing them. Lots of 'even though it's a skoda' type comments but the V70 couldn't keep up and after a chase across a field 'due to the skodas rallying pedigree' the burglars got away.

They mentioned the Rally Sport (The presenters words not mine) Skoda had an Audi TT engine and so and so on.

They chased the same gang the next night after they had stolen a Vectra and caught them

I remember that from when it was first screened about 3 yrs ago.

Last night I was watching Car Wars on BBC1. They were in unmarked Scoobie WRX's and found a Mitsi FQ300 via the tracker - The cop was saying "The FQ stands for something, the Q being "quick" good job it wasnt a persute as this would have left us behind"

IIRC the only reason it went across the field was because the person who'd nicked it didn't give a cr@p about the car I suspect the police officer might have had to justify any damage to the Volvo

They'd have been better off in a Fiat if the pursuit started at 30mph with each car in 5th gear

I guess they steal "simple" cars becuase they're easier to sell on ?

Yeah I watched that show the first time around, next day I went to the dealers to have a look at the octavia. In a way, that was a great piece of adveryising for Skoda.

Yeah i too remember this when it was shown on the bee'b(EDIT:although this must have been aug/sept 2004, as thats when i got my car), and for good reason it was in Sheffield, and was about two weeks after i had just bought an Octavia myself.......sits down to watch it... first bloody thing on, stolen octavia from an house burglary in sheffield....
