Seat options for the Kodiaq

Featured Replies

Just a query relating to the seat options on the Kodiaq.

In the configurator, it has 'heated seats' as well as 'ventilated seats'

See the attached photos.

What exactly does it mean by 'ventilated'??   Do the cool as well as heat or just blow air through them??

The ventilated seats pulls the air away from you, I was unsure as they are an expensive option, however now I have them I would want them every time again, they are great on a hot day, no more betty swollocks....

How do they work Gizmo??

So you think they are a recommended option?

How effective are they on a hot day?

They use the same button as the heated seats, once you press the button you get a pop up window on the infotainment screen with the ventilated (blue) and heated (red) seats setting, there are 3 setting for each (you can also have heated and ventilated on at the same time if you wish).

The ventilation is in the seat base and the back rest and it pulls the heat away from the driver / passenger (rather than blowing air) I did a 5 hr drive wearing shorts on a hot day and never felt sweaty like you normally do with leather on a hot day.

It’s not powerful enough to make you chilly but you certainly feel it when you turn them on.

As I say it’s not a cheap option but if you can afford it then go for it, you will not be disappointed.

WOW, thanks................I'll have them as an option when I'm ready to order.

Thank you Gizmo.

The only downside (potentially) is as the seats are perforated they may be harder to keep looking clean, and any products used to clean could soak through to the foam and rot it in time.

I don't have experience of this, just playing devils advocate.

What is your experience Gizmo ?

I have perforated seats in my 2008 X-Trail and they've stood up to wear and tear very well. To clean them I just use some cleaner with a brush to lather a bit on then use a microfibre cloth, then another microfibre over a vacuum nozzle on low to make sure it's 100% dry.

I use Dr Leather wipes and then dried off with a microfiber cloth,

not had any issue in keeping beige ventilated seats clean.

II have had the heated/cooled/ventilated seats for over fives years and I would also say they are worth it. It is like anything else that is new to the range "why would I have that, never needed it before" but once you have you appreciate it.

yes more care is needed to clean and feed the leather.
