Anyone got the fitting instructions to hand and could possibly scan or post them to me?

 

We removed the stripes from the lad's car last year when the insurance cost of having them on was massive, but as this year it's zero, we want to put them back on again...

 

I've just picked up a set of Skoda decals from ebay for quite a bit less than the £180 skoda price, but they have no instructions. There's an ebay seller selling his used instructions, but I reckon £13.50 for them is a bit steep!!!

 

Local dealer says they outsource the fitting to a couple of local places so I'll probably be getting them to fit them however I'd like to see what's involved with doing it right.

 

Hhmmm... so, the insurance company read about stripes adding 10bhp??

 

 If you ever used clear "contact" wrap to cover a school book... its exact the same really. Just on a much bigger scale, and applying the vinyl to the car rather than the car (book) to the vinyl.

Heating it for stretch and plyability is the main trick, being sure it lined up perfectly before you start is the main skill...

 

Cheers - it's all a bit academic now as the kit I bought isn't complete so will be going back :-(

remeber to get a felt edged sqeugee from ebay  to apply the stripes and check out youtube for the wet application method

 

first time I tried I destroyed the stripes fiting them dry without the application squeggee

 

 

In the end I took the part-complete kit to the local vehicle graphics people and they made up the ones to replace the missing ones and fitted them all.

 

Worth noting that the current Skoda price for the kit is now £120 inc Vat, but the fully fitted price is £180 inc Vat which isn't too bad.
