problems with my 2001 tdi..

Featured Replies

i had my 90hp octavia basically blow its engine about 3 months ago and well, no warranty meant a long time to get the money to fix it all. in the end, they replaced all the injectors, the cylinder head, a piston, the valves, and the rods, plus and the fuel pump. on the side, the MAF was broken and glued together with super glue (i have a strong feeling this could be it) and my turbo locked up. i finally had it fixed and up and running about a month ago but now i feel it all weird. i have this power loss at certain rpms, my car didn't want to go over 140kph, the transmission was shifting gears however the hell it wants, in the end, it just feels real sluggish and slow, no real power when going up hills and inclines, and aside from that, its consuming diesel like crazy. a full tank gives me about 390km on the little lcd screen but in reality it does about 430km, which isn't a big difference. can anyone please give me any ideas or suggestions? i'm real desperate. any possibility that replacing the MAF might fix it?

My suggestion........ sell it and buy something else.

Speak to the place that did the work for you as it sounds like the engione recon which was basically required didn't work too well.

If no joy sell it

Are you still running the glue up MAF?

Need to check the fault codes really, could be pump timing.

i'm still using the glued MAF but the timings are all correct. hoping to get the new MAF by beginning of next week. parts don't really show up as easily here as they do over there in europe. aside from that, any other suggestions or ideas?
