Throttle Body Adaption?

Featured Replies

I have been getting some weird throttle issues lately. When pulling away it feels like she is bogging down, give it some more on the pedal and she is away no problem. Anyway, plugged my OBD scanner in and had a look at the live data on the throttle pedal % readings, and found that at rest it is reading 4.7%. Then when you start to gradually press the pedal down, it dips to 2.7%, then as low as 0.6%, then starts to rise all the way to 99.7% (floor mat won't let it go any further down - not complaining about 0.3% mind, rarely use full throttle anyway), same when coming back down, dips, then rises back to a rest of 4.7%.

I am thinking it needs the adaption resetting on the TB? I have VCDS Lite on my laptop, can it be done with this, or do I need to find someone with the paid version? According to ross-tech, the shareware version won't do adaptions? I have read that disconnecting the battery, pulling the ECU fuse and leaving for 10-15 mins will do the same thing, and for it to re learn take it for a drive of around 10 minutes with varying throttle inputs.

Just logged in for a read on the forum after a short spell away and have just done this on my car. Youtube it, there is a Ross Tech video walking through the process. I have VCDS Lite too and it worked okay after I cleaned the throttle body.
