Mine have failed (and only just out of warranty - grrrr) - and I'm fed up of banging my head on the tailgate 'cos it won't lift properly.

 

I've got the part numbers off them - 5JJ 827 550C 01S but am stuck for a supplier. I suspect that trotting to my local Skoda dealer won't get me the best bargain around.

 

Any ideas or recommended suppliers, new or used? (I've seen a couple of sets on ebay but the part numbers differ)

Mine had gone but fortunately within the warranty period so they changed them at the main dealer... Feel for you...

Try:

Febi Bilstein 47048 tailgate struts. Probably same as oem.

 

Part numbers list as:

5JJ 827 550 A  -   < 24.11.13  , PR-3RC (normal tailgate)

5JJ 827 550 C  -   > 25.11.13  , PR-3RC (normal tailgate)

5JJ 827 550 B  -   <24.11.13 , PR -3RU  (longer glass tailgate) [like monte carlo or style pack]

5JJ 827 550 D  -   > 25.11.13 , PR-3RU  ( same as above.)
