Problems since upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a 62 plate TDI yeti, since sending back for a recall I had issues Friday evening. The engine ticks over when stopping the engine, and the exhaust management light came on. I can not go above 2500 rpm, the particulate filter has never come on.

The light went off on Saturday, but still no power above 2500 rpm, Skoda can not book me in till Thursday, so going to a Bosch auto centre tomorrow morning.

any thoughts please.

Did they do the emissions recall?

Sounds like they did.

Yes a few months ago.

It all points towards EGR failure which is a side effect of the emissions recall.

So who is to pay for all this, any thoughts

Škoda should do the EGR FOC, but will not roll the software back.

A remap would cure it (or even a std map put back on) but ultimately both of these options will cost you.

If you let the Bosch Auto Centre play with it Not Skoda.

Needs to go back to the place the update was done if it's a known side affect

I can't wait till the end of the week, I am happier getting an I dependent diagnosis then will speak to Skoda.

If they caused this issue, then I will get a remap done for and deal with a small claims court.

Does this mean the particulate filter sensor Is faulty as this never came on in all the time I had the car.

Personally I don't think you'd have much luck with the small claims court,  Skoda might win on the grounds that you didn't give them the opportunity to fix your car especially if the update has causes known problems.

Any way which every route you go down I hope you get your car fixed, Good luck

I will give them the chance to fix it, I need an independent diagnosis first.

Ok the car is fixed, they said very little.

They showed me the blocked part, it was round and had something in the middle I think. So blocked.

i was also told it was impossible to return the software to its original state.

Nothing is impossible, not even the impossible.

just that Skoda Franchised Dealership, VW Group Dealership Employees and agents can not, will not, shall not.

But then they will not set the big digital speedo to MPH, do one touch locking etc and that is not impossible either.
