Sat Nav problems?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been away from Briskoda for a while but recently bought a new Yeti SE Outdoors.

Am I missing something obvious or is the built in Sat Nav just cr@p?

I visit lots of rural places where street names don't exist so rely on post codes - but I can only get the system to take the first 4 or 5 digits, so the satnav only takes me to wide geographical location.

i.e. I want to go to AB12 3DC, but the system will only accept AB12 3

I have never had a problem with the sat-nav not accepting postcodes.
Have you tried it without the space?

Put up a postcode your having problems with and I'll try it in mine.

Do you have the Amundsen system? If so select country and then when selecting town the postcode box should appear in the lower left. I've never had a problem in the UK with this system.

Me neither, it works fine. The only thing we have noticed is that you need to press NAV and then wait a few seconds before entering New Destination. It's a wee bit laggy, but it's a great system.

As above..... Press Town and the PTCD box appears. You have to remember to choose either letters or numbers for input.

So, in your example:   Start with

Letters AB  then change to Numbers 123  then back to Letters DC.

You DO NOT leave any gaps.  So it will enter as AB123DC.

Brilliant guys, was me that was being thick, not being used to the system.  I hadn't picked up on the PTCD box

On my other car (Renault Kadjar) I enter the postcode straight into the "town" box

Good man

No, not thick. We found it confusing at first too.

The interface design is terrible.

Not nearly as good as the Columbus.
