Itunes on a pc

Featured Replies

Up to getting the Monte Carlo, I used to burn an MP3 CD to play in the car.  Now the new Monte doesn't have a CD player and I'll have to put my music on an SD card or memory stick.  Trouble is, I can't figue out how to put a playlist on to a memory stick.  I've checked out  Youtube for any tips but some don't work, mainly because when Itunes is on the screen, there appears to be a missing row of clickable icons at the top of the screen (like file, edit, view,  etc on this screen). My Itunes fills the screen and the first thing at the top left of the screen are the RW, Play & FF buttons, nothing above. I've tried dragging and dropping the playlist into the memory stick, but nothing goes there.

Do you have any advice for me please?

Then go File, Library, Export Playlist

I believe that just exports the playlist..

You have to copy all the songs over as well.

Well I've managed to sort it.  Found another youtube vid which pointed me in the right direction. Apparently all the music is stored on C drive and this is the source itunes takes it from when you're playing music on the pc.  In my case it was:-C/users/trevor/mymusic..

Herein were all the files of the artists and single tracks. Click on the artist opens up all the tracks.

Put the USB stick in and open it up, then it just a matter of right clicking the track needed (or muliple tracks) and "Send to" the the usb stick. Don't drag and drop or it takes it off the computer permanently and puts it on the memory stick.  I guess copy and paste would work, but I didn't try that.  It took me about an hour to put two days worth of music in the stick.

Tried the stick in the car's usb slot and it's all there and works a treat. The only downside I can see, is that although I put full albums on the stick, somewhere during the process, all the tracks were jumbled up as if I'd shuffled them, but not, they are all in song title alphabetical order,  not artist.  I'm guessing that was finger trouble on my part, who knows? But no matter, got my music in the car and that's all that counts.
