Driveshaft number

Featured Replies

Does anybody know the part number for the nearside driveshaft for my Fabia 1.4 MPI 8v non-ABS? Am looking to replace the driveshaft and hub/bearing and new parts seem very expensive so trying breaker networks but they ask for the part number and several  seem to think they are all the same whatever engine or quote for cars with ABS only.

6Q0407451CX or 6Q0407271BC, for your car, I think.  From here, filtering results for 1N2 (power steering) and engine code.  ABS or not appears to be irrelevant.

Yes have ramped it but no label left on it as expected. The engine code is AQW (which you knew-thanks!!) and seems either of those two must fit.

many thanks

What size are the brakes, it may be that ABS is 256mm and non ABS is smaller.

If you want a wheel bearing fitted I have the tool.

Have ordered used parts from a breaker which they claim will fit. New ones totalled about £250 inc VAT-that is driveshaft and hub/bearing. Used less than half price. Could come unstuck-stupidly thought Skoda parts were cheap!

If have to bite the bullet will and take the hit on the used ones. Firm called Nirro based in Essex sending parts.

Just wondering why you need to change the whole driveshaft?

Garage said inner one gone and you could only change outer one. surprisingly finding parts not easy to come by!

---another garage talking utter crap.

GSF have the inner joints...

I told you this in another thread, I said the joints by themselves were quite cheap, your garage is DUMB, how do they think the inner CV joint was attached to the drive shaft, by welding? Muppets.

Well what can I say about that except I got the complete driveshaft for £40 but they wanted me to pay £128 plus VAT.

Tried Eurocarparts but no luck. Have used GSF for oils on ebay before-will contact them in future. Sadly its a learning curve as new to Skoda-bought it for my wife. However, log book came today so I learned the engine number so can order things easier in future.

I got the hub/wheel bearing from the breakers also. Garage wanted £84 + VAT. Told it was because it was a non-ABS one as I noticed plenty ABS ones on ebay for £20-30.

Hope breaker parts fit but now I have the GSF lead will use them if parts do not fit.

Thanks for your valuable help guys.

The engine number is on a sticker under the boot carpet, along with other info such as gearbox code, paint code and build options. The same sticker should be inside the front page of the service book if you have it.

Very useful to know, thanks. Have looked at GSF now and both inner and outer joints are available but also offer premium at a higher (double) price although that does not appeal to me but possibly explains garage prices. They  do not seem to have the hub/bearing in stock at the moment. Now I've made my bed I will have to lie in it so hoping breakers parts fit.
