Hi I have just got a Mk1 Octy VRS and have been looking around at the Jabbasport and Awesome GTi stores. On there I have seen the Neuspeed Turbo Intake pipe and lower intercooler pipe. What I want to know is:-

i) Are these OK on there own, any performance benefit

ii) Do you need a remap for them to be of use

iii) If I got a set of SAMCO silicon hoses would it make these other parts redundant

As I am also thinking of a set of Samco hoses, is the kit that is listed on the Awesome website for the Octavia as when I looked on the Samco site they don't list the Octavia???

Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated?

I have all of the above including the lower intake pipe, with regards to this, I replaced it as I was about to fit an APR FMIC so I knew that I could alter the position of thye pipe, it does Fit but you have to make sure that it is pulled in towardes the inner wing as much as possible or it may catch on the tyre at full lock, if you are running standard Oct tyres i.e 205's you will probably be ok but it rubs on 225's very slightly unless you can move it a little.

Samco hoses are the Golf IV kit ( bought mine from Awesome they will advise you correctly but I will have a look in the garage later and post the actual part number as I still have the box!

Neuspeed Turbo intake, would not go for this as it retains the std upper pipe, better bet is to go with the SAMCO / Forge Silicone TIP, this does make a difference which is noticeable both to the performance and the sound of the turbo spool.

I ran all of the above along with some other bits for 6 months prior to getting it remapped no problems........hey whilst you are in Awesome why not take advantage of their re-map offer of
