Thought SD card was stuck

Featured Replies

My music filled SD card has been in the car for at least a year I have had no reason to take it out till the other day when I turned on the radio and the screen froze at "welcome to Skoda" and I could hear smooth radio playing but everything  else was frozen. Pressed all the buttons switched it off/on a few times still frozen. Checkeing the SD card is not easy to see but it felt as if the card was flush with the slot instead of sticking out slightly. Pulled off the rubber shroud thinking the card carrier may come out with it but it doesn't but for whatever reason the card became removeable and it slotted back in and replaced the shroud turned the radio on all working ok possibly the 2 things are unrelated Joe

PS anyone else had problems with frozen radio startup and any possible fixes

Hi JoPeddos,

On some devices that use a SD card I have found the following.

To insert push the card in until you hear/feel a click, release the pressure and the card move back 1-2 mm.

The card at this point can still be flush with it's slot hole.

To release the card you push it in 1-2 mm until you hear/feel a click, the card is then free to come out.

The card can be spring ejected about half way out at this point.

I have not yet put a SD card in my car yet.

thanks AG Falco

Press and hold the volume on/off knob to soft reset the radio if it has a little moment. Got to remember that these radios are computers, not old-school radios like they used to be.

Thanks vc-10 thought there must be a way to re-boot the radio Joe
