Headlights upgrade from halogen to bi-xenon (with LED DRL) - coding!

hi all,

 

i've recently upgraded my halogen headlights to bi-xenons with led drl (octavia mk3 my2016). self-leveling was also installed, but not yet active, because i need a new high can gateway for this function (mid installed by factory, new one will be installed by official skoda dealer).

 

with the fabulous help from aki78 i have the vcds coding for the upgrade (without afs codes). this guide works fine in my car without no major fault code, but of course YOU CAN USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK ONLY. i still have a low priority fault code (540693 - Databus U1121 00 [009] - Missing Message), this is maybe because of the lack of communication between the car and the already installed afs modules. please keep this in mind!

well you need to check whether your bcm supports xenon or not. it's 50-50 and if not, it's hard to change because of component protection. i was lucky enough to have a factory fitted bcm that supports xenon. check your 09 module with VCDS (long coding) and verify if it's compatible with xenons. if you see something like 'xenon shutter not ssupported by this control module' you need to buy a new one. i also needed to change the can gateway, also component protected, coding was done by an official skoda dealer. you need to have a bcm (or similar): PQ37BOSCH (5Q0-937-086-AK), a 'high' can gateway (or similar): 5Q0-907-530-F, and you will also need a headlight range module (or similar): 7P6-907-357-A. you will also need to install front and back auto leveling sensors, so to be honest it's a very complex project

Hello, are you able to help me with following. I would like to activate slowly dimming of LED day lights after using sidelights (the white strips on bootom side of headlights, which are changed at orange during using sidelights). There are many instruction for this topic related with Fabia MK3, Superb MK3 and Octavia MK3 as well, but described modification only for model before facelift (adaptation on: Leuchte2SL VL B10 and Leuchte2SL VR B21), But this instruction doesn´t working on Octavia MK3 facelift with LED headlights, because of B10  and B20 are not active. Is there anybody who tried to do it on OctaviaMK3 facelift with LED headlights?

I just did the similar exchange (from Xenon to Xenon/LED) as #tygger described above. I followed all VCDS coding but side light does not work. Non of the sides. However according to the perfect coding description it should. Can anybody help? Thanks a lot. Akos
