Why do the New SKODA designs look like JEEP design?

Take the Kodiaq  and now the Karoq  ....when will it end..  and lets not talk about the new Octavia ( read Merc ) front..... Yep they need a new designer and quick!!

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/436441-skodas-new-head-of-design-new-direction

They got this dude in, so time will tell.

Maybe because there is only so many 'top' vehicle designers in the world and they move around the manufacturers having to pen designs to meet much the same crash protection and safety for other road users, and that has cars in similar classes looking similar these days, unless something is made to look a bit more extreme / marmite.

The Karoq looks like a scaled down Kodiaq so no surprises there, and the Kodiaq is on the same platform as the VW's Audi's & SEAT's that are not exactly very different.

JEEP / Fiat-Chrysler do design and build some real horror show fugly cars so they are not that different from Skoda then with the discontinued YETI and the new Face Lift Octavia 3's.

Fugly can be good and practical but a Jeep Renegade is just taking that a bit to far.

? Why do Jeep stick with the 'signature' front bonnet grill slot style like Suzuki did?

'Maybe if Great Wall Motor Company buy Jeep things will change greatly with Jeep designs, or maybe just become more reliable.

Suzuki dropped the 5 slot grill now though unless it gets used again with a Jimny replacement!

We went to look at the Jeep Renegade before we decided on our Yeti.

What a joke. The rear seats don't fold down properly, and are not removable. Instant turn off. Expected far more from a brand like Jeep.

And its FUGLY.  :wondering:

Renegade and n8ssan juke should be destroyed what's an abomination of car design

think Renegade is the ugliest of all - i don't get it

Sometimes function is more important than looks or style, and as long as they do what you expect they can be as fugly as the designer wants.

There will be some ability on tracks with a Karoq but not much and none with a Juke.

It would be good if Skoda did models that can have some options to make it usable as soft roader that can be used on rougher tracks and have some clearance.
