Banging sound from under car

Featured Replies

Octavia 1.6 Estate 2014 35,000 miles.

only purchased the car four days ago and have two problems already.

1. Banging from under car over bumpy roads.  My thoughts are loose exhaust or suspension.  At only 35,000 miles neither of these should be an issue - anyone had similar.

2.  Passenger side door mirror stop folding in when car locked 2nd time I locked the car!

I have driven a VW Golf with zero issues for 3 years, so a bit worried getting these issues so quick!

The beauty of a warranty, chuck it at a local dealer and ask them to ring you when it's fixed.

Dealer is replacing mirror and anti roll bar links apparently

got back from dealers investigation and the radio wouldn't switch off!

Have you looked below the car?

Quality is hit and miss with these things. I moved up the tree and quality is still something that is an option.

Two weeks of Skoda Octavia ownership.  Anti Roll Bar links replaced but clunking from the front still there.  Car back in today for two front shock absorbers to be replaced (can these really be the problem after only 35,000 miles?).  Have been told the cheapest component is replaced first, then the next expensive etc until the problem solved! Got home after the visit and the radio / SatNav would not switch off, even with the key removed and car locked!  Had to back to the dealer for a reset!

After three years of trouble free Golf ownership, three visits to the Skoda dealer in two weeks and no fix.

  • 2 weeks later...

Did you solve this: clunking from the front?
