The 1.5 TSI has now come up as an option in Germany on the configuration tool both as Manual and DSG. are the first ones delivered in the UK, any feedback?

IIRC it only appeared on the UK configurator within the last month....not sure it's been available to order long enough for any to have been delivered yet.

Got one - being built week 40 (2nd October). Ordered BW 32 (August 11th) - that is changed original order for 1.4 TSi SE L DSG Hatch BW made on13th July to 1.5 TSi SE L DSG Hatch. Build week 37 with the 1.4 increased to BW 40 with the 1.5.

Looking forward to owner reviews of the 1.5 engine.

They will not supply to Australia in Octavia or Golf and it not really clear whether it is due to the high sulphur content of our petrol or the fact that our environmental standards are so low that is not really necessary (still Euro 5 for the time being).

The 1.4tsi is definitely a cheaper engine and it is still one of the best of its kind sold here anyway.

 

 

I,ve just posted a problem on the diagnostics page, after taking delivery of 67 Plate, 1.5 TFSI ACT, with the Rev counter sticking.  Basically Skoda can not give satisfactory solution to fix.  Not sure at this point whether it is specific to this engine, but would like to hear back if anyone else has similar issue.  dealer said, they have a second car with same problem.  Currently driving a loan vehicle, 17 Plate,  with Diesel engine. . .  with no problem.   Could it be the engine? Or perhaps some upgrade between March and September?  

I recently ordered a 1.4 over a 1.5.  The list price of the 1.5 was £300 more, but that wasn’t what clinched the deal, the GFV on the PCP was almost £1000 less!  The dealer couldn’t explain why the car with the newer engine and slightly better economy was, in theory, going to be worth about 10% less than one with the older engine in 42 months time.  Even the £300 difference meant a lot of miles to justify the difference on the basis of fuel economy alone.  I don’t know if the ‘maths’ for company car owners makes more sense with BIK, but for private buyers, be aware.
