Last Octy was a mk2 petrol VRS estate that the wonderful folk at Shark had cast their spell over, plus an uprated RARB made it a passable sports estate, but that was back in 2014, and a Seat Leon Cupra 280 with added sauce entered the fray. 18 months later, and a 190ps Superb SE-L hatch sat in the driveway, and has been my car for business and pleasure and everything in between. It's covered 49k already, and starting to cost money in repairs and maintenance (£230 for new rear pads and discs a couple of months ago), so figured I'd give the superb to my wife who does around 6k miles a year, and trade in her Ibiza for...a new Octy vrs estate. Got a great deal from Capitol Newport (£3800 discount) on a Rallye Green diesel vRS estate with blackline. Now, I'm not normally bothered about the colour of my cars, but snot green was maybe pushing it, but having had a good look in the flesh I like it. Looks OK on the Octy estate, but terrible on other models - they had a Fabia in same colour and I don't think it suited it at all.

 

So, I pick it up Wednesday, I'd better go and check the spec details to see what it's got......

I like it, wife doesn't, but she has a general aversion to green cars. It's growing on me, not least that I'll not struggle to find it in a car park. 

OK, so I have sorted out GAP insurance, the Brisky discount with the site sponsor much appreciated in obtaining a sensible price compared to the Disneyland Dealership quote. I'm going to use their 5 day drive away insurance so I can sort out the tangle of changing my car, and handing over my Superb to my wife, whilst she loses "her" car in the exchange process. I've got a brisky inside label lined up, and all of the mobile office detritus that needs transferring from the Superb to the Greenbird II is in my hallway packed neatly ready.
